My life is being made miserable by the fact that I must write an application essay for the Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities (AKA the school where I can go to get away from my parents AND study what I've always wanted while getting my high school diploma and college credit at the same time). Hopefully the run-ons in my essay aren't that bad. Death, death to English.

Poetry

Why can some people use repetition in their poetry and have it turn out well? Mine never quite sounds right...unless it's in a formal structure, like a villanelle. And then my meter is off...*sigh* I can't write free verse forever. I must "broaden my horizons" so to speak...I need more time to play with some new poetic forms. Oh, well...
