I do hope you haven't come here to read anything interesting. I'm far too busy reading other people's interesting bits myself to have managed being entertaining as well!!
I suppose that seeing as you're already here, the least I could do is tell you a little about myself.....
I'm most frequently known as mama, though really only my daughter calls me that, and my friends call me Barbra, among other things. I take care of my girl Amy, full-time, and a couple of other children part-time. It's a lot more fun than other jobs I've had, though the pay is less, and I guess I'll be doing it for a while to come.
It's best I don't talk about my daughter too much, cause I'm likely to just go on and on and on and on...... Suffice to say she is adorable, clever, remarkable, affectionate, well behaved, healthy, pretty, friendly, talented....... See what I mean?
I'm a big fan of reading. Fantasy, sci-fi, horror, humour, everything in between Anne Rice and Terry Pratchet has a home on my book shelf. I'm partial to P.C. and ps2 games too, as well as playing a Dungeons and Dragons style game almost every week with some friends.
Considering I used to be a serious devotee of the Dublin club-scene , I reckon I've changed a LOT over the years, but I wouldn't change a thing now ('cept maybe ask the boss for a raise!!)
So that's yer lot!
If I do get around to contributing a proper journal entry (instead of just recycling my old intro!) you can find out ALL about me, but 'til then, What are YOU up to? Eh?

My daughter turned 3 last week. we had a much anticipated party, invited 15 little girls who all turned up in pink-princess dresses, and had jelly and ice-cream.

Early days yet.
(Apr 14, 2003)
Hi There, I'm Babs,
I live near a beautiful castle, in Trim, Ireland, I am in the 25-30 age box, I have a sweet little family including a 2 1/2 yr old daughter who is astonishingly clever, and I'm quite a happy little bunny!
I discovered the H2G2 site by reading DNA's assorted entries in "The salmon of doubt", a book I had put off reading for a long time on the advice of a literary critic, who said that Douglas's unfinished work was best left unfinished, and would ultimately leave the reader unsatisfied and dissapointed.
WHAT A W****R
I wish I hadn't taken that particular advice. Not only did I enjoy every moment in the long-missed company of Mr.Douglas Adams, but I could have been enjoying this particular web-site a long time ago, which is, in my opinion, exactly what the internet should be, a resource, a forum, a magazine, a meeting place and last but not least, a community.
I've met some cool people and read some fascinating stuff. I'm not much of a writer but I'm sure I'll make a bit of an effort eventually.
'Til then, I've got my towel , and I'm not going to panic
