BADGERS... BADGERS... BADGERS... BADGERS... BADGERS...

I find badgers infinitely interesting. yikes

Haunted Castle...

I have a room in the Haunted Castle! Come by and hang out with me, vampire s, the ghost s and the happy monster s here. (thank you Lurcher for that wonderful link!)

Doilies...

I truly believe that the mysteries of the universe could be completely solved if governments were to start funding studies of doilies. What do we really know about the doily? How did it first come about? You may think that a doily is just some whimsical eyecatcher made of string or yarn, but have you really thought about it? Have you seen the dazed look on a persons face as they are making a doily? Hobby you say, craft??? NO NO! I submit that this is the dastardly insidious work of aliens! ufo Just take a minute to ponder the rationality behind doilies...THERE IS NONE! Really, it must be aliens.alienfrown I am not quite sure what their ultimate devilish goal is, nor what purpose is being served by having millions of witless humans make doilies...but we need to find out! We must make a stand now! DON'T BE ANOTHER DOILY SLAVE! martianfrown

Pastries

Pastries are highly underrated, and should be prescribed more often by the medical community to cure such illnesses as: Hamster Envy, Mis-matched Shoe Syndrome and Sports Allergies.
Ginger biscuits, oven gloves and a lizard running from gloves over to biscuits and taking a wee nibble

This candle is for Hope

It was for Mistadrong who had gotten himself lost and I kept it here to help guide him back. And he's back!!! YAY!!! Now I keep this candle here for all of us that have gone through difficult trials and tribulations in the past couple of years, and for those who are currently experiencing difficulties. Hope, it leads us out of the dark places and into the light...

Temptation... (Mar 23, 2005)
Well, it's that time of year again. erm You know - when you have to go out and buy easter baskets for other people, and try not to eat any of the candy because you're on a diet - but the choc haunts your dreams and the malted milk eggs cry out your name in the dark (in a most evil way!) yikes

We have a popcorn company here in Kansas City by the name of Topsy's. They make popcorn bunny 's every year. They're about 12 inches high and 4 inches thick with candy eyes and little candy carrots around the bottom, and all tied up in crinkle wrap with a big bow love . And you can get them in either the regular candied popcorn flavor or in cinammon. drool

I always get one for my daughter and one each for my niece and nephew. It's a tradition! biggrin And my daughter never eats all of hers - so I end up eating it. So of course I get her the cinnamon flavor cause that's my favorite! evilgrin .

Well... this year she told me she didn't like the popcorn bunny s! yikes So now, if I want to eat one - I have to buy one for me - which everyone knows I can't because I'm dieting and, and, wah
Just think of those poor popcorn bunny s sitting there all lined up at Topsy's, waiting to come to my house (as they do every year) and having to live with the disappointment of never getting picked up... blue

erm

Hey - wait a minute... popcorn isn't fattening as long as you don't put oil or butter on it is it? bigeyes

Hold on little bunny s!!! I'm coming! run

Yippee!!! (Feb 22, 2005)
I've lost 25 pounds! biggrin Since January 3rd!

bigeyes

erm

In "weight" not in British money! laugh

Yep - I've decided that this is the year to get this weight off. ok

So wish me luck - as I'm a great "starter" and not a good "finisher"

cheers

Oh dear... (Feb 14, 2005)
And on and on it goes...

My mom (who lives with me) fell while walking across the front lawn on Friday evening. Her arm swelled so we went to the emergency room (2 blocks from our house). Found out she broke one of her left ribs and her right wrist. yikes They put a splint on the arm - but they can't do anything about the rib - it just heals on it's own.

Then to add insult to injury - she broke out in hives from either the pain killer (hydrocodone) or the anti-inflammatory (Celebrex) and had to stop taking both on Saturday evening. Which means that yesterday (Sunday) she was in a lot of pain and not very mobile. bruised

She can sleep in her bed (she can't get up with the bad rib) so she's been sleeping in the reclining chair, but she can't push it back up to get out of in on her own, so I set my alarm for every two hours last night to see if she had to get up to go to the bathroom or anything.

And today I'm draggin... zzz But she's feeling better today, can get out of the chair on her own and I take her to get the cast put on the arm tomorrow. cheers

Much Ado... (Oct 28, 2004)
I just watched one of my favorite movies again: Much Ado About Nothing. Actually, it's one of my favorite Shakespeare plays - made into a movie and directed by (and starring) Kenneth Branagh. It's such a hoot! laugh I just LOVE his and Emma Thompson's performance in this movie!

Such a shame they got divorced blue (Kenneth & Emma that is)

I get a warm fuzzy feeling everytime I watch it! biggrin
