Welcome. Please make yourself at home. Mind your head, it's a low doorway. That's it. I'm Spike. Have some . Please feel free to read my journal and comment thereon. I love to just go on about certain things, so bear with me when it happens. Now I describe myself, yes? Well, let's see... I'm a DNA enthusiast who loves the Guide to pieces. I also love just about anything Monty Python, and I know I'm not alone. I'm American, almost an anglophile, but not quite. I also love the X-Files, Star Trek, and Babylon 5. Which reminds me, I also love logic, boolean algebra, the lot. That's one of those subjects where you'll just have to bear with me. I'll try to be interesting though!

We decide when life begins, not when it ends. (Dedicated to Rat and Willem, in that order (you are both loved!)) It is the intelligent who have learned; it is the wise who can teach. Questioning is the greatest show of faith. If you are good at it, do it. If you are not, teach it. (Thanks to Yelbakk) Trust always your instincts and rarely your impulses. The words of the wise are oft wasted on the ears of the foolish. (Thanks to Mystrunner) Suggestions welcomed below

You know, the anonymity of the Internet is wonderful. I can write headers like that without getting beaten up. Anyway, here are a few of my friends:

Spike Milligan, RIP
(Feb 27, 2002)
A comic genius and my namesake. I'm afraid I don't know much about him, but I have listened to the Goon Show and it's amazing what it did for British comedy, not to mention simply how hillarius it was and is. I'll have to listen to those records again.
In other news, I did get my permit last week, and today I *finally* drove! I took the car down the road a bit and came back up. There's snow on the ground, but not much, so I'll be able to practice out in the field in back when I have time. Whenever that is. Oh, well, I suppose it's my own fault. Which reminds me: I should really go. Later days. Click here to discuss this

16!
(Feb 19, 2002)
Well, the day is here! I'm 16. I'm also awaiting the hour of three, when I'll be free, free at last! I'm sitting at school, waiting for school to end, wading though backlog. In 20 minutes (35, really) I'll Vira will drive me home, and from there we'll go with my parents to the RMV to get my permit! Yay! I can't wait.
The person at the computer next to me just signed up a few random people for Victoria's Secret mailings . I guess I should go do some actual work until the end of school. I hope I'm ready for the permit test (they say it's really easy). Later days. Click here to discuss this

That Scottish Play
(Feb 19, 2002)
It's over and done with. We enjoyed it while it was here, and now it's just gone. I hate school. The monotony, the inability, the sheer boredom.
The play was fun, though. The last performance was the best of all. Of course, we had plenty of time to work on it with eight preformances. Thursday and Friday, two private matinees and a public evening; Saturday, a public matinee and a public evening. The first performance was the worst by a longshot, but then it *was* our first full runthough with costume.
Wow, so many drama folk are Researchers. Let's see: Vira (U187573), Strider (U187148), Amuntari the Tech Goddess (U188219), The Pixel Guru on AV tech (U188619), Silent Knight (U189325), and Skimars (U189055). Wow.
Yesterday after the set strike a bunch of us went out to dinner. We went to a great little Thai place. BTW, try the crispy duck.
And tommorow's my birthday! Yay! Vira's coming over for dinner and who knows what we'll have. I can't wait! 16. Wow. Vira and I will finally be legal. Until then. Click here to discuss this
