He who refuses to take part in modern mediocrity will forever stand alone, an outcast. He is the bringer of change, changes that instil fear in all those who go with fashion's flow. Their powers come from others, not from within. They are false! Woe unto them for the bringers of change have banded together. The time is now! We cannot be stopped! We are riding up, riding hard on the will of the people.

The battle rages. Choose your side.

DEATH TO FALSE METAL!

Forever
Fighting the world.

I hear the sound in a Metal way...

Let's establish this from the word go - I am a Heavy Metal man first and foremost. And that's mostly what I do. Listen to music, digest the music, learn the music, live the music. Go to gigs, get drunk, have a quiet riot. Learn the stuff on guitar and bass. Bits and bobs on the side pop up - street teaming, attempts at arranging gigs (none successful so far). You'd be right if you said it's a rather one-dimensional way to go about life, but I love it and your taste in music is far inferior to mine anyway!

Mandatory name-dropping of favourite bands - Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, ManOwaR, Slayer ('83 - '91), Black Sabbath (esp. w/ Ronnie James Dio or Tony Martin), Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Helloween, Hammerfall and many many more...

Heavy Metal is the focus, with dabblings in Thrash, Power, Glam/Hair, Black, Death (inc. Gothenburg stuff but only a teeny bit) and NSBM. Other forms of music exist in my world too, but I don't like to flaunt them...

Manowar Manowar livin' on the road...

This bit used to be about anime...which I'm not really all that interested in now! But it's good fun...this stuff I used to enjoy/wouldn't mind digging out again soon:

Battle Angel Alita
Dominion/Dominion Tank Police
Ghost In The Shell
Macross Plus
Patlabor
Tenchi Muyo + Tenchi Universe
Slayers
El Hazard

Kudos to Final Fantasy stuff also. 7 and 9 are most excellent! 10 and 6 are cool also. 8 is geigh. 5 is proving to be a bit of a drag...

The evil that men do lives on and on

Factory (Oct 5, 2004)
Every day I go to work all yuk wondering when the hell this horrendous gig's going to end. As the day passes the routine of packing test tubes becomes gradually more endearing, in the sense you get used to it and just think about getting out at the end of the day, and the money. The weekend rolls around and any memory of the previous week is blotted out in an alcoholic stupor. Monday rolls around and the cycle starts again.

My job is so crap, but the money is cool and I'm used to it by now. Better the devil you know...

Meh.

New stash (Mar 18, 2004)
Hmmm, yes, in the next week or so my CD collection should swell greatly through trades and one or two contributions from friends. I am soon to be receiving:

Black Sabbath - Tyr
Burzum - Det Som En Gang Var, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, Filosofem, Daudi Baldurs
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Deep Purple - Perpendicular
Bruce Dickinson - Chemical Wedding
Judas Iscariot - Dethroned, Conquered, Forgotten EP
Kiss - Greatest Hits
Kristallnacht - Of Elitism And War
Marduk - Panzer Division Marduk
Nargaroth - Black Metal Ist Krieg
Osculum Infame - Dor-Nu-Fauglith
W.A.S.P. - Crimson Idol, Dying For The World

Means I'm gonna have to buy some more CD storage though! >_<
