I am a little physicist, mostly sitting next to my machine and waiting for new results. Normally this takes five minutes during which I laugh at the results from the last run. Probably this is the physicist's fate. Fortunately I don't have to pay for it, on the contrary, I am paid for it. Like many other scientists. It's a great job. I mean, in other professions you have to be productive, but a scientist can cater their childlike demands: Playing around, trying this, frying that, getting everything substituted and earning enough money to lead a quite comfortable life. I love it. You can reach me also via email.

Welcome to this Researcher's Journal. If you'd like to comment on anything they have written here, just click the relevant 'Discuss this Entry' button. h2g2 is coming to an end
(Sep 8, 2003)
Losing two third of its staff, h2g2 seems to be on the decline.
Adams' experiment was not mature. As an encyclopaedia, it failed. Everything2, and first and foremost Wikipedia are very much better.
As a comunity, well, the people here are pretty intelligent and kind, but moderation and especially the anti-war-discussion thing put it in question. (Even for me, although I'm not keen to post bold things.)
Things that want to survive on the Internet must grow. h2g2's growth rate was perpertually too small.
Probably we should exchange our email addresses before the last curtain falls. Click here to discuss this

My ID-Number
(Sep 13, 2001)
Many researchers try to find a way to arrange their ID within a formular in a way that the result is 42. Today I thought that it would be a nice idea to do the same. Well, I took my poket calculator, gritted my teeth -- and saw that it was trivial: 153x0+7x6. Boring. Click here to discuss this

I added a paragraph to the units entry. In addition I changed the order of kilogram and second in the table of base units. I wonder whether these very late changes are seen by the sub-editor. Click here to discuss this

My entry disappeared
(Oct 22, 2000)
Today my article about units disappeared from the coming-up page. I hope that today's upload will still be recognised -- there was at least one severe mistake to correct. Click here to discuss this
