What is Create?

Create is a series of themed challenges. We hope to provoke h2g2ers into feats of wilder research, more studious creative writing, tastier visual arts, more lyrical fun and wonderfully composed biscuits.

	Welcome to the Month of May!

Our illustrious leader, Z, takes up the strain and exhorts you, in the nicest possible way, to write for the Guide this month. Our challenge, should you wish to accept it, is Hobbies. You will find all the details of this challenge here. If the only hobby you have is h2g2.com then you may be interested in reading our coming up page and planning how to storm ahead by researching for the future months activities.

42 bottles of beer on the wall...

h2g2 is not a fan site, but many h2g2 researchers arrived here because of their love of Douglas Adams' work. As a result, they tend to have a natural affinity for the number 42. In partnership with the forthcoming podcast, Towelcast42, we would like to harness that for two 42-related challenges.

We continue our photography challenge to create an exhibition of naturally occurring or more contrived sightings of the lesser spotted 42. Now would be a perfect excuse to get out and about and enjoy the spring (*cough* autumn *cough*) air, and we are still welcoming 42s of any kind over at our flickr account.

Why not have a go at our 42-word story challenge. Yes, the challenge is to write stories only 42 words long. This month the keyword is 'Hobbies'. Surprisingly.

To all current and potential Creationeers (4 Weeks Ago) Hi Everyone I am sad to let you know that Solnushka is no longer able to spare enough time to be responsible for running Create. I know that you will all join me in thanking her for all that she has done to get this project off to such a good start. Please take a look at a message that I've put onto the Noesis forum. If you're not able to access it, please let me know. If you want to volunteer to help run Create, and are not already an official volunteer, please contact me as well. We intend to keep Create running, as it has been such fun and has some interesting stuff in the pipeline. Oh, and take a look at the competition on the new Front Page. Bluebottle (you may have noticed his Purplebottle at the meet) has issued a chalenge to all those who attended, or did not attend, the Museum of Scienceand Industry while in Manchester: A87743596 And while Pastey has already admirably covered the venue for the Friday Fringe meet in the Guide ( A87726937 ), there is as yet no entry on the hangout for the Saturday evening knees up.
