"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence." So I sink into my bed with a book. A place upstairs, in the quiet and the calm. Terry Pratchett with his Discworld that sucks you in with a smile, Iain M. Banks with his universe filled with The Culture, Alastair Reynolds and his time leaping galaxy of future man and Robin Hobb who fills pages with fantasy, strife and adventure. So if you're looking for the cat, that's where I'll be purring......or in Lil's Atelier, where else?

(Aug 2, 2010)
So a completely new clean install of 4.01 with my firewall turned off. Bingo! Then restore with stored backup and all was good again. It very much looks like my copy of Zonealarm was interfering with the install somehow. Pears are back to apples. Click here to discuss this

Borked my iPhone
(Jul 19, 2010)
So the mighty fruit giveth, then taketh away. My love affair with my iPhone has taken a mighty kicking when I made the fateful decision to upgrade to the latest software.(3.1.3 up to 4.01) It still works as a phone (phew), but it's video playback is borked, as is the Safari input text box I use to reply on hootoo. And it also decides now and again to hide all my music and videos until I reconnect back to the PC (not helpful when 600 miles from home). Things are now Pear shaped

Been, gone, came back, went, returned, left, arrived once more. Met myself in a mirror and he was definitely taller and had more hair. Click here to discuss this
