	Football Fan

If your interested in football try this H2G2 link Football. My team for my sins are Notts County, currently a Second Division side. We finished 8th in the 2000/01 season. Still Notts Forest had an even poorer season than us.

	Rambling

I enjoy wandering around the countryside aimlessly when ever I can, Foot and Mouth permitting, and to that end am a member of the Ramblers Association.

	History

I enjoy reading about history, especially the more obscure event in our history. Check out the H2G2 History link.

	Reading

Currently finishing off "Kings of Albion" by Juilian Rathbone, to be honest not impressed, "The Last English King", his previous book to this one, is a must read book, but I felt a little let down by this one, I could never really get into it and hence it just seemed to drag on.

Got a job (Sep 24, 2001) phew that's a relief, start a new job on Monday Oct 1. Not sure about the internet access though, so time on h2g2 may or may not be limited . Don't feel that over joyed though yet, perhaps it's because I'll still be working yet a lot of my collegues won't be, I'm sure I'll work it out though. Click here to discuss this (No replies) Work (Aug 20, 2000) You know work is begining to get in the way of my H2G2 life, this is getting serious. At the end of August my current role becomes redundant, thought i'd mention it here just to get it off my chest, as I haven't mentioned it to my wife yet, I know,I know, but I think the worry would be too much for her. Anyway they've promised us all new jobs, just doing what they haven't said yet, should get to know by Sept 1st otherwise i'll be sitting at my desk logged on to H2G2 all day. And Notts County lost 4-3, in the last minute as well, i've said it once and i'll write it again, Bugger. Click here to discuss this (No replies) The convergence of reality and virtual reality (Jul 23, 2000) Got to think about this during the week as I started to spend more time in the Forum and Firkin pub. Which, as it happens, is what I tend to do in what's known as the 'real world'. The people in the Forum and Firkin are very friendly, I would definitely recommend a visit. My only problem is I never seem to be able to make it there when others are around, I just end up reading the conversations they had the next day. |_b as they say in the Firkin. Click here to discuss this (No replies) Another Birthday (Jul 2, 2000) Well i've finally made it to the grand old age of 35. How does it feel ? well pretty much the same as 34, and 33 and 32 in fact I still feel the same as when I was in my mid twenties. The presents seem to have dried up, 1 from my parents (money) one from my in laws (money), two from my wife (clothes and a book) and one from the dog, I suspect she didn't save up and buy it herself though. I wonder if the interesting presents dry up at a certain age or you just become less interested in them? Click here to discuss this (No replies) England 1 Germany 0 (Jun 18, 2000) I'm sitting here thinking that after waiting my whole life for that result why aren't I more elated ? Is is because the Germans were right all along ?, it is only a game and as for its importance only the English media have built it up to such a silly level that we all think that it is the be all and end all of the world. Or is it because we actually didn't knock them out of the competition and we haven't gone on to win anything on the back of this, I don't know perhaps winning this game just proves that winning a football game doesn't mean that much after all.
