Congratulations on using Classic Goo.
Welcome, wherever you came here from. This page is designed for dna/h2g2 Goo but seems to work well in its other dna Hub disguises too. Except Collective. It looks really nasty in Collective.

If you have big flappy feet, a large red nose, painted lips and a tendency to fit far too many of your baggily clad friends into a silly looking car, it's best to avoid Elfin.

Watch out for Gwennie. She likes strange men!

coelocanth's NaJoPoMo 2012 (Oct 31, 2012)
One journal, updated daily. No particular theme, but to focus myself I might try and stick to a vague alphabetical order, although I reserve the right to miss letters out, do two entries with the same letter or abandon the plan altogether if I feel like it.

Calling cards are welcome, comments or questions would be nice too.

Here we go. A is for... About me. #2

It's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea (Feb 14, 2012)
The last time I saw my Valentine he said it wasn't a goodbye. My heart wanted to believe this, but my head is telling me it probably was.

We've known each other for a long time - more than 15 years, although not always in contact. For various reasons the timing was never right. But I know he always thought about me. A few years ago I looked at him with fresh eyes and completely, unexpectedly, lost my heart. But he broke it.

Some people say it takes two winters to get over a heartbreak, others say 500 days, which is probably much the same. It was painful, and fighting the pain made it worse. This time round I know I can't avoid the pain, but I can choose not to try and resist it.

You know my love goes with you, as your love stays with me.

Twelve Years! (Jan 3, 2012)
Has it really been a year since I last did a journal entry? Happy h2g2 birthday to me! bubbly

2011 hasn't been all that great, but I survived redundacy from my dream job, severe money problems and toxic men - amongst other things. I've kept my house (just) and now I'm in full time employment, with responsibilities. It's not what I wanted to be doing, but I'm very grateful to be working.

Maybe it's true that you can never have a dream job, the perfect house and the right partner all at the same time. I never seem to manage it anyway. So which 2 out of 3 will 2012 bring me?

Eleven years! (Jan 1, 2011)
Happy birthday to me! cake

As I've pointed out before, I was lurking here from October 1999, when I read an article about websites worth visiting. One was h2g2 and I lurked from October until late December when I signed up (but didn't activate my page straight away).

Another site listed in the same article was Arts and Letters,http://www.aldaily.com/ which became my home page in 1999 and remains so to this day - as fascinating as ever. RIP Denis Dutton.

Time travelling (Jul 28, 2010)
I've listed all my various jobs before, but the one that is the most fun is being a film extra. I've stopped thinking of it as work, it's more like a fantastic hobby that I get paid for.

So far this year I've travelled back to the 1960s and spent a day with backcombed hair and then there were 3 freezing cold days spent in 1820s Scotland watching a hanging. For the past couple of weeks I've been in the 1930s.

It's the closest thing to having my own tardis !
