There are just too many decisions to make that require information that I just don't have yet.
Are we moving house in the next six months? Will I fall pregnant in that time (reproductive biology being the finikity thing it is)? When interest rates rise, when will it happen and how will that affect fixed and variable mortgage rates? How long can I do this job before burning out, and if I do, what will I do instead? If and when we find out about h2g2, how much time will I be able to put in? If I fail to do anything about my fitness level now, how is it going to affect my health and wellbeing?
Bah.
A few of them will undoubtedly sort themselves out in a little while. However, by that time I/we will have already had to make a decision about our motgage, and I really wish I knew the answers to some of these questions now.
It's not a dire problem, it just bugs me. I hate making uninformaed decisions.
Your unknowns need managing.
Take this guy's advice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiPe1OiKQuk
(and good luck )

If only I could watch YouTube stuff at work, Icy. I look forward to it later though!

I hate unknowns. I have rather a lot to deal with at the moment.
You certainly do have a lot of unknowns. I got nowhere with my interrogation this weekend

To be fair the line 'I know you can't tell me' isn't something that was commonly used in the Spanish Inquisition..
You're right. I should have brought the branding irons

Thankfully I was nowhere where I could have gotten myself into trouble... Not that kind of trouble, anyway.

Turns out one of the questions in my initial post was answered much more quickly than I expected. Very early days yet though, lots of things could go wrong.

Do we get any clues as to which one?

Well, I've just been to the doctor, who has recommended I continue taking my folic acid.
Yeah, it looks like I was incredibly lucky and fell pregnant quickly. As I said, early days yet and lots can go wrong yet, but...

Congratulations!
Congratulations from me too
I have only one piece of parenthood advice. <clears throat>
Under NO circumstances feed them courgettes. At least, not until they're fully toilet-trained.
Congratulations!
I solemnly promise I won't make jokes about seed pods at Maelstrom...

Thanks guys. * all round.*
Given I dislike courgettes I shall find it remarkably easy to follow your advice, Icy.
Congratulations!
Splendid news.
