GTB, about an hour or so north. Up the 405.
Ste lives in San Diego, too.

GTB! Been to the Wild Animal Park yet? I'm about 30 minutes away from Escondido, up the I-15. Irvine isn't too far away either, you'd have to take the 78 to the I-5 and head on upwards for about 45 mins. Have you relocated permenantly?
Ste
Permanently? Well, more or less. (I hesitate to make any *eternal* committments.... On the other hand, southern California's nice!)
No, I haven't been to the Wild Animal Park yet. I haven't been much of anywhere. I relocated here under rather odd circumstances, and I'm actually a bit homeless at the moment, trying to save some money and eventually get a place, either in Escondido or Oceanside, or maybe Vista. Meanwhile, I've started working part time in Rancho Bernardo.
30 minutes from Escondido up the 15? That's where I am right now, actually. This computer is in the house of some friends in Fallbrook. Are we neighbors? What are you doing for lunch?

Are we neighbours? In the SoCal sense yes, I s'pose . I'm in San Diego itself, in Clairemont. Fallbrook? That's near some great vinyards in Temecula.
The rent ain't cheap out here. It's tough to find *anything* under $800/900 pm , but I'm sure you'll be fine. You're homeless, I'm unemployed, this sounds like we have some time on our hands! I know some *incredible* mexican restaraunts, though I've just had my lunch today, maybe next week?
Ste
Next week sounds good! If you email me your phone number, I'll call you over the weekend when I get my free cel phone minutes. (email: gtjacobs at hotmail dot com)
I'm probably spending part of this weekend down on Mission Beach with some USD kids. Let's definitely get in touch though; I'll have to see about these Mexican restaurants. As a native Texan who's lived in Santa Fe, I might be hard to please.
$800-900 sounds about right for a one bedroom in one of the cheaper areas. Once my girlfriend gets back in town from Tahoe, we'll be looking for a place, and have both our incomes to pay for it. Living can get pretty expensive, I've noticed.

Alrighty!
Have fun at Mission Beach, and don't forget to go on the old ricketty rollercoaster. SD mexican food ain't no TexMex, it's MexMex. I'll have to take you to a cheap n cheerful(ish) place near USD, called JVs, Carne Asado burritos for $3.
We got lucky with a big house for dead cheap a couple of years ago. It's so expensive around here that after we move out in July, and before we go to Irvine in September we're going to stay with my In-Laws for a couple of months. Should be fun.
What made you come out to SD county then?
