Now, that's odd...

can't say i've got that many wied and wonderful stories about my dad.

but SATS are a doddle. All our teachers hyped them up loads and about how much we needed to revise blah blah blah, and no one bothered, and no one got less than a 6 for anything, i got 8-8-8 without taking the revision books out of the packets.

seriously, our end of year exams were harder than our SATS...

that was a gay year for us, we had to do 5 Maths exams - 2 SATS papers, 2 GCSE papers and our internal exam...

but anyway...

i dunno about the rest, but maths is a doddle too as long as you understand it. their both 2 hours long, and when we did ours last year no one took longer than 1 hour! and we were in year 9! and no one got lower than an A!!!!

just read thorugh your notes and you'll be fine.

Thanks. But actually, I find maths the hardest one of the lot! There are so many numbers in ths world, that there are too many ways of arranging them in pointless ways. I mean, OK, maybe we will come to use basic algebra when it comes to laying a patio etc. but when are we ever going to need to know Circle Thoerems or the equation of a line again? The problem is, they can't just teach us the four rules and a little bit of algebra/percentages/decimals for 11 years straight, and maths is meant to be a great indicator of intelligence. Which means I'm thick, basically.

lol good luck with them smiley

i must be very very thick then

i may be in the top set but i am at the bottom of the top set

i think teachers dont put u into sets becuase of how good u r at something i think they do it by putting the people they dont like into the top set so they have an excuse to give them lots of homework

thats the only reason i could possibly be in there

i am trying not to think about gcses yet get these stupid sats out of the way then maybe

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm the dimmest in my top set, too. I like your theory about teachers putting people they don't like into top sets; our teachers always go on about how immature we all are considering how bright we're meant to be. Having said that, the lower sets are a load of rough-cut ones, too. But it's terribly amusing that a lot of them despise me for being a geek. I'd sooner be a geek than the alternative...

our maths teacher told us aboout this theory that left handed people are better at maths than right hande people so he asked us to put up our hands if we were left handed and about half of us did. very strange ming u if thats true then about alf of the people r good at maths so my theory's wrong ohhhhhhhh

i'm left handed, but i'm not top of our top maths set. admittedly i'm not bottom, but i don't think i'm higher than 5th, with all those above me being rightys.

good luck both of you!!! i'm free of maths exams until my AS-level next year!

I do a bit in the morning and the evening, and let the middle bit go hang. That's in the holidays, anyway. I can't believe it, some people in my year haven't started revising yet!! I've been doing it for about a month.

Yes, I'm currently eating my breakfast on the first day back. I'm looking forward to it about as much as being hanged. My exams, as far as I'm concerned, start in 4 days' time. Cosmic.
