My writer friend Corrado and I have long been thinking about starting a literary circle, sort of a book club for writers without the books, dinner parties for the word processing set. Trieste, the town where we live, is literally teeming with writers, some good, some not, but all dying to get their stuff out, discuss it with other people, share tips and pointers, and cheer each other on.
So I said to myself, it's time we started a blog.
I have yet to collect the information, but just think of the implications: we'd save time, wouldn't have to bother with setting up convenient dates, anyone could join and even the non-literary could join in if they liked the idea. I could finally air those long-forgotten short stories that languish in my hard disk, and have them torn apart by competent people; plus, VISIBILITY (any publisher could have a look, and if they liked it, contact us).
Plus, it'd be a marvellous way to keep busy and stop obsessing over men who don't fancy us, or do but not quite, or any variation on the theme.
