hi
-
i think a while back we messaged
-
i think i asked if you could see if my name was common or unusal, and if there are many with my last name.
-
im nearly 62 now, so im not worried about anyone knowing my real name. its in a banner with my family motto on my U210898 ps.
-
with bad health and no pennies, not to mention a passport, getting to france is a no go.
-
would be great to know anything you could find on my name, might have some distant relations.
-
ive used the library here as far as the 1700,s, and still didnt go back to france, must be from the 1600 or 1700,sdragon jim

Hi there, Jimcracker.

Sorry for the delay. sorry

I have found a number of "Deluce"s thanks to the search engine on the website of the French telephone book thingy (not sure what it's called in English, maybe it *is* just called a telephone book erm ).
So you can find their mail addresses and phone numbers. I'm going to copy and paste those and email them to you.

Also, there is a town called Lucé near Chartres, which *might* be the origin of the name? It could mean "from Lucé". Maybe.

I've resent just it to the other email address.

I know Lucy means something related with light, so... shrug

hi

ive tryed to find the connection to where the french side came from, but as i said ive reached the 1700, and any other seach would be in the parish records.
-
and you need a profesional searcher and they charge a lot.
-
during my early search i was told that the name was from the belgium huganouts, and they where at the time in france of the revolution, and they moved to london and lancashire. the elders that could read and write, in london, the others to the cotton trade. im from warrington, england now living in yorkshire. dragon jim xx
