Hi Teaswill, hope you are doing OK.
Got a question that your lad might be able to help with if he is still in Japan and you don't mind asking? Bit of a cheek but dunno where else to ask!
As you may have seen on other threads I need to replace the exhaust on my bike. I've found a possible but I need to know a bit more about it. It is marked as "Full JMCA Gild Factory Design exhaust system for Honda CB1000" but I have no idea what a 'JMCA Gild Factory Design' is. I think that JMCA is some sort of Japanese industry body that sets vehicle component standards. I've googled both JMCA and 'Gild Factory Design' but, of course, it is all in Japanese!
Of course, I could be wrong but I was just wondering if your son might have heard of them as he's into his bikes too?
If not, then no worries!
Part is here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-CB1000-...otorcycle_Parts&hash=item335f7b58c0
Try this translated link: http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...g&prev=/search%3Fq%3DJMCA%26hl%3Den
But I'll email my son to ask too!
Well he confirms JMCA as the Japan Motorcycle Accessories Association. He's guessing that the supplier/manufacturer is a JMCA "g[u]ild" member (ie JMCA approved).
Hope that's helpful!
Thank you Teaswill!
The site translation isn't that good cos it doesn't translate the images with writing in them!
But good to know that it is confirmed who they are. Should mean the exhaust isn't a straight through dragster pipe with no baffles.
Gawd I must be getting old if I don't want the exhaust to be too loud eh? And thanks to your son as well!
