Hello Z. I have been given your excellent Entry to sub-edit, and apart from trivial matters of grammar and punctuation I recommend the following changes:
doctors tried to treat heart attacks by giving drugs that broke down blood clots (thrombolysis) > doctors tried to treat heart attacks by thrombolysis (giving drugs that broke down blood clots)
caused a bleed > caused bleeding
Dr Yusef > Dr Salim Yusuf
Eur Heart J (1985) 6 (7)> European Heart Journal (1985) Vol. 6, Issue 7
many many > very many
Please tell me if this is all right, or not. Thanks!

Thank you. Yes that's all fine.
'Caused a bleed' is medical terminology, as we would count the number of bleeds instead of number of patients with bleeding. IE bleeding in two places would be two bleeds.
In that case I'll reinstate 'caused a bleed'.
There seems to be room for a diagram here:
>This is called a Meta-analysis, and it will give you a graph something like this:
Do you need another subheader after that, before 'You'll probably want to write everything up ...'
Since 'Publication Bias' and 'Rubbish in - rubbish out' are cases of 'Problems with systematic reviews', should they appear in bold (like Inclusion and Exclusion criteria) rather than as new subheaders?
See what you think of it like this: A87726900
Actually on re-reading I have reverted to your original 'many many lives were saved'. No need for me to interfere with that.

I think that's great, very happy with that.
I do need to know whether you mean to include a diagram ...

I've e mailed one to the editors and they should be able to sort it out. Actually they've e mailed it back to me to make some changes..
OK! So I'll return the Entry to the Eds and they can insert the amended chart.
Congratulations on a really readable and helpful Entry

Thanks! I'm planning another one on statistical significance.
Now that's something everyone needs priming in
Ha! It's made the Front Page! Congratulations!
