Your list of US "numbers ones" was pretty sobering. I was proud of myself for voting in this election, even if most of the guys I voted for didn't win. What do you think of lotteries? It was a hot issue in our state, whether to even allow one to be discussed. I really didn't see what all the fuss was about. Memphians go down to Mississippi casinos to gamble all the time.

Lotteries? The first thing I thought of when i read that was that short story... But I am guessing you are talking about lotteries in which people can get lots of money? I don't know... People are always going to gamble, like you said... And if the state gets some money from it, the gambling may as well be state-sponsored. *shrug* I guess I don't have much of a personal connection with it, not enough to change an opinion....
