I think there should be all the animals in the Chinese Years calendars, that includes a Monkey!!!
Hell yeah, in fact why not a monkey series, for example: monkey in tophat, monkey with fez, pirate monkey etc etc..
... yep, the smiley-types are limitless ... coughs & splutters ... all I asked for was one simple little monkey ... had asked for a snail too (MSN have got one!), but was told in no uncertain terms I'd have to settle for the old keyboard one ... ah well, that's technological advance for you I suppose.
Welcome by the way or have you re-joined?

I have a monkey smiley graphic (elsewhere). However, to get such things on here takes various more or less obscure techniques or for the staff to decide to add more official graphical smileys - which they haven't done for a while (and have even cut down the previous list of requests).
... like banging your head against a brick wall <ouch>
Me? Im new to h2g2, but rejoined the bbc site and found out someone had nicked my name
So what name was it? Have you identified the culprit? Have you chastised them?
always been a Shirps

It may well have been you yourself who nicked your name. The BBC registration/login system has made a lot of stupid mistakes like that in failing to recognise people properly and telling them they couldn't be themselves again. On the other hand, perhaps there really is another you running around the site ...
the thought of two (or even more) of me ... doesn't bear thinking about ... in fact I can't Yep, I had probs getting back again, but luckily "they" (who are these people called they - get around everywhere!) let me have a link to my old site, so not all was lost & I retained my "birth" name
i agree with you there should

Well it's another primate and not that different in shape. You'd need a profile view to stand any chance of distinguishing a smiley-sized graphic of each.
