Hi! Welcome to H2G2! If you go to your space (click My Space in yellow in the left hand side of your window) and click edit Intro you can tell people about yourself and one of our ACEs will come along and introduce you to the world of H2G2.
I hope I see you around!
Tango

Not a lot! It is a good idea to make an intro so an ACE (volunteer welcomer) can come alone and give you some tips, then you can start exploring!
About the letter "w", it is the only letter that is made up of 2 other letters "double 'u'" (both in name and in symbol), so it is very special. You have made a good choice in choosing it as your favorite letter!
Tango
PS Please do follow my previous intructions, it really is a good idea!

u and v were the same letter until recently
Tango
how recently? ^. .^ = ' =
w is actually | |/ |
in anglo-saxon...
Like... 600 years, maybe?
But u was always separate in Greek. In fact, there is no v in greek. and w in greek is actually a long o. Hooray for omegas!

And the german for 'w' translates as 'double-v' not 'double-u'. Does this mean that the Germans are straighter than us or just that we're a bit more wavey?
i like that u can say world wide web as quick as u can say www

And also that people 'shorten' things like World War 2 to WW2!
Are there any words in English that have more than two Ws in them?

When speaking of the WWW, some utter "Wuh Wuh Wuh" - at the risk of sounding like an amourous florbnap.
some people say "Dubs". That threw me the first time I heard it.
I disagree, I think B is a funnier letter than W. And more useful.
I think that either X or W are the funniest letters.
Nahhhhhh mate! B just looks like a bottom turned sideways. W is a pointier less funny sideways copy. X? About as funny as X-rays. About as funny as ex. About as funny as death. P is a funny letter. Especially a silent P.
