...when you get the 'boiled eyeball' feeling first thing in the morning.
...When you start looking for the 'refresh' button on teletext.
...when you'd rather recharge your laptop than wash your clothes.
...when you start wanting to put smileys into job applications.
<note> These are all true experiences of mine in the 9 months or so I've been a researcher. </note>
... when you find yourself signing emails using your h2g2 name.
... when your friends know why you sometimes refer to your car as the antmobile.
... when you find yourself playing the "make it add up to 42" game with telephone numbers

...You write ROFL on a serious business memo
...You used the Google cache to stare at your home page during the downtime
You say ~grin~ at the end of every other sentence
You feel genuinely refreshed after a virtual

Does anybody else have h2g2 dreams?
Does LP know about the dreams?

h2g2 dreams? Scary!
In my case, though, it might make sense - I get up, go to work, spend all day arsing about on h2g2, go home, log back into h2g2, eventually eat something and go to bed.
If I could 'log in' during my dreams, then I could ensure that I'm not wasting any part of a typical 24 hours on something as frivolous as sleep.
...when you say your actions instead of actually *doing* them
... I did have an h2g2-related dream during the "down time". It was when we found eGroups had been assimilated by Yahoo.... but I don't remember the details of the dream!
Anyway, You know you're a h2g2 addict when...
You try and dial a User Number into your telephone instead of a telephone number.
You log onto the internet at unearthly hours to check responses in your conversations list (come on, who DOESN'T do that? Hmm?).
Every computer on the college network has h2g2 and your user space in its history and bookmarks list.
You don't ever mention non-bbc websites in conversations and instead say "URL replaced by moderator".
...You sacrifice using the bathroom(to urinate or take a shower) for JUST ONE MORE POST!!!
That's more than I needed to know.

..you find yourself posting to really silly forums at even more ridiculous times.. like the wee hours
...you log onto h2g2 one evening and never, ever leave.

...you have to have a long think before deciding whether it's more important to go to a friend's birthday party or go post in a Saving the Galaxy thread on h2g2
... you seriously consider having your birthday party on h2g2, because then you won't have to move from in front of your computer

... you expect there will be a Peregrin in the story when you read the trilogy again.
--- peregrin was chosen just because he's the president. I actually look for many researchers in the story, and really know them to have a role, but I never can remember what ---

besides, I admit: I've been waking up at strange hours to check the posts, I've had dreams related to h2g2, I'm still expecting > < > to transform in a fish each time I write it.
...your first thought, when going away during vacation is: Oh man, the backlog is gonna kill me!!!
