My mum broke down(mind) and finaly got a sat nav because she borowd my uncles sat nav and she liked it and the same day she got the same one.
Traveller in Time on top "Now you know exactly in what room you are ?
Think she has been looking for one for more then a year by now. "
It does not work inside.
I was hoping to get one that was portable so that I could use it on walks, but they all seemed to use batteries. As Issun said, I borrowed one and it was so simple and easy (although still makes some very strange choices) that I thought it was about time to take the plunge. I'm fed up with keep printing out routes all the time!
Would GPS be an option for you?
Isn't that the same as sat nav?
I think of GPS as the walker-friendly version of sat nav; they probably are the same thing. You can get portable GPS that you can download OS maps onto, and presumably these would work in your car as well even though they're designed more for walkers. As a man, of course, I can get lost perfectly adequately without needing to resort to a map...
I was going to get one of those - I had even picked out which was the best for walking because I'm nervous about walking around in the countryside with no road sign - but unfortunately they aren't rechargable, they use batteries which puts me off. I don't often go right out in the country anyway, we tend to stick to walking routes, so this will do us for now.
