The capping of the Great Pyramid was a planned event which, from what I've read, never happened. Almost at the last minute, the Egyptian body that monitors and protects antiquities and monuments decided that the potential damage to the pyramid from capping it was too great. The concert went ahead, but the cap was never put in place.
