Entry: Museum Of Science and Industry, Manchester, England, UK - A87743866 Author: Bluebottle with Bald Bloke, Bel, BrownFurby, Candi, Dr Anthea, Lanzababy, Magwitch, Metal Chicken, Milla, minichessemouse, Phil, Solnushka, Spimcoot, Tavaron da Quirm, the_jon_m, Titania, Tufty & Witty Moniker - U43530
It is still possible to make last-minute contributions here: A87743596 Hurry - writing the article must end soon! This is a slightly different sort of article as it is a collaboration between many of the researchers who attended the h2g2 Manchester meet: 1. Bald Bloke (U55660) 2. Bel (U230913) 3. Bluebottle (U43530) 4. BrownFurby (U151102) 5. Candi (U187278) 6. Dr Anthea (U203430) 7. Lanzababy (U10790805) 8. Magwitch (U780990) 9. Metal Chicken (U97477) 10. Milla feels at home. (U153664) 11. minichessemouse (U8131912) 12. Phil (U55494) 13. Solnushka (U138596) 14. Spimcoot (U181927) 15. Tavaron da Quirm ... (U1314679) 16. the_jon_m (U204330) 17. Titania and Ripley (U135628) 18. Tufty (U566116) 19. Witty Moniker (U15777) And although I would not ask Some researchers contributed a lot, many contributed a little. I wish to ensure that everyone has a contribution that makes it to the finished article. The last thing I want is for a researcher's sole suggestion to be deleted or altered beyond their original intent. (Of course, grammar can be corrected and anything I've written can be chopped and changed as there's more than enough rubbish by Bluebottle clogging up the guide )

I seem to have been distracted mid-sentence. I meant to write: And although I would not ask for special treatment, please take unique the nature of this article into account.

This is a good entry, BB. Too many times in the past we've had a collaborative entry where the compiler just took a load of quotes from different people and stuck them all together. You've resisted this temptation and have written a useful guide to the Museum. Well done!
I'd like an explanation of how Thomas the Tank Engine came to the museum, when he is a fictional character of book and TV.

I tried to go for more objective content than subjective, and I think overall the balance works well. There are a couple of priceless quotes in the article, but I think having a defined structure (building by building) to hang the quotes onto ensures it fits together.
Good point about Thomas – I've added a footnote to explain this.

My take, short though it is.
MMF was disappointed that the Ashcroft was not disability friendly, as was looking forward to riding on it. However he was lucky to have locker 42, courtesy of Pastey. The lockers are downstairs, so again not disability friendly.
Unfortunately, the train trip was split into two groups, causing the Meet to become split. This meant MMF lost contact with all Meet attendees so, after a fruitless search for them (they blend into the background so easily) he retired to the cafe and a much needed coffee and a sit-down. Cobbles, stairs and a walking stick do not happy bedfellows, make! Definitely want to visit again, but preferably with a segway or something equivalent.
Big, isn't it? Puts the London museum to shame!

Thank you, I've added your comments to the article.

I like this a lot, and I agree the quotes enhance what is already a good entry.
Where shall we go next time?

I' don't understand this:
"This includes a timeline showing Manchester's scientific advances from a barometer in 1790 to 2000"
Do you mean that the first advance was a barometer invented in 1790? It sounds a bit oddly phrased. I think it would be better without mentioning the baromete: "scientific advances from 1790 to 2000".

Good suggestions – all updated for the entry. >>(anybody want to guess what my weekend plans include ?!)<< – Are you having lessons on how to be a trapeze artist? I must say I admire your dedication to thoroughly researching MOSI, and salute you as you taste each and every pint.

The beer festival was actually just the second one, but both now have been storming successes and they plan to continue this. They're run in conjunction with Trafford and Hulme branch of CAMRA.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
