Hello Witty
Just a quickie - one of the agents has suggested I apply for a job with Franklin Templeton, and I've never heard of them. I thought you might know a bit more about them than "huh? who?" which was my reaction.
If you've any words of wisdom or Awful Warnings, in particular about their reputation and corporate culture, I'd be very grateful.
Email me at agirlcalledben at yahoo dot co dot uk if you've any thoughts.
Only if you've the energy and time, though. Google is my friend, and I can find out a lot for myselfio.

Wow, I'm flattered that you think I may know something.
While the name is vaguely familar, I really don't anything about the company. I am quite out of the loop in the financial world these days. My grunt job at the moment is working for an HVAC contractor and trying to cope with the heat wave inundating the NorthEast for the last week. <sweat>
I can tell you that in the US, it is ~not~ a household name like Merril Lynch or Fidelity or ETrade, but probably very well known for those that make it their business to know their way around the world of investing.
That's great, Witty. Certainly confirms the impression I've got of them.
Thank you.
