Hallo!

I don't speak German,
I speak a little french though,
Learnt some in high school.

Why did you assume,
That I spoke these languages?
From my name perhaps?

German is not taught,
In Australian schools often,
But a couple do.

Ich spreche nicht das deutsch. Und es wird nicht in sehr vielen australischen Schulen unterrichtet. Warum denken Sie mich sprechen Deutsch?

Zeitgeist.

Your translater(translation) wasn`t very well, but VERY good for someone NOT speaking German. do you realy know what`s the meaning of your name?
PS: on which rules are haiku`s(?) based I haven`t heard of them in 14 long years of school!!!

Rules for my haiku,
First line is five sylables
Then seven, then five.

A website did an,
Automatic translation,
English to German.

The grammar is poor,
But the idea gets through,
Some how or some way.

Meaning of my name?
'Spirit of the current age'?
Or something like that.

I have this idea,
Of what 'Zeitgeist' really means,
But can't express it.

How do you translate,
A mental concept into,
Proper written words?

It is very hard,
To capture all nuances,
Of your inner mind.

Zeitgeist.

I know what you thougt,
so I do try it myself,
I hope this is right.

Tranlations can not
impress what is realy meant
in other language.

This is realy hard,
because it`s not my language.
That`s why it sounds bad.

Greetings from Germany to Australia
