Having worked for over 15 years in the world of advertising I have reached this conclusion, don't believe it. The basic premise of any advert is to convince you to do that which you would not ordinarily choose to do. Not for me the clever f**k marketing ploy, no that can f**k right off and French Connection can stick their t-shirts up their asres. Donna Karen holds no place in my heart nor do Dolce and his equally talentless friend Gabbana. Toni and Guy can cut somebody elses hair and McDonalds does make me go mmm, but not in the way you think. The world does not have a favourite airline, it's an impossibility and if I want my kids to drink a healthy drink, it won't be called Sunny D.
The confusion that advertising tries to cause only adds to the stress of life. Believe your senses not your imagination. Guinness tastes disgusting. Beans means wind. Skegness is dull. Stella Artois is too expensive. Ragu Italian sauce is made in Holland.
Hi there!
You probably won't get many answers to your question posting here -- if you look at the top of the page, you can see that this is the forum for talking *about* h2g2. If you just want to talk *on* h2g2, and ask your question, a good place to go is askh2g2 -- lots of people hang out there who like to ask and answer questions like this.
