I registered for h2g2 in 2001, as U178218. I came back briefly a few years ago, but couldn't remember my old password, so I set up a new account, i.e. this account, which I've just transferred over from the bbc h2g2. It's a bit silly to have two accounts, and all of what little I contributed is listed under the old one, which I can no longer access. Is there any way to merge them, or just to nuke this account and resume using the old one?

Please e-mail gurus@h2g2.com and explain as much as you can about your old account. They may be able to reunite you with it.

Hi John,

Can I suggest you wait before contacting the gurus? We have lots of emails coming in about the transfers at the moment.

AFAIK there is no way to combine PSs. And you can't close an account. You can delete things from a PS, and unsubscribe from conversations so they dissappear off your convo list.

It's also fine to just leave an account and post from the other one.

If you need help accessing your old account, just ask again here and I'll pick up the case.
