Well, it is not really that dramatic and the cast is a bit off - it's Mrs SG V who is leaving by train today. Not that I'll really be a grass widower - I'm off for Paris tomorrow. Yes, that means that we're leaving the kids to their own destiny until Thursday...
They'll cope - 15 & 18 now, And C not only has her driving license, we're also leaving the car back home, so she'll be able to get shopping done easily if needed.
We'll be back Thu and Friday, respectively. I'll be much mistaken if they aren't actually looking forward to it

Agreed. They are old enough for a few days on their own with C in charge. When my step-sons grew up, moved out and became independent, it was a bit of a problem for F to acknowledge that they were ready to leave. I was okay with the younger one leaving, but it was really hard at first when the older one did. Not that yours are leaving. You still have some time.
