Wow,

I hope that the outcome is what you're seeking. I got a little worried at the erm -- hope it's just nerves.

I will be out of school for a month, and if lucky enough, find a job in the term break.

I'm hoping my application to the State will get me an interview, the money is that good.

Best to you!

SC

I felt that it went (the interview) quite well - but then, what do I know? [quiet at the back there Wildman!] The job looks really tasty and the money is good enough.

I hope that this one works and that you manage to land a good one too. I'll keep you aware of the outcome - good or bad..... smiley

Take it easy,
W

Well, as it turns out, I need to learn to read the fine print. Preferably before I submit the app, next time. sadface

When reading said fine print, it turns out I don't qualify for the 3 state positions I applied for. Maybe they won't notice?

I don't know, I think an excess of college credits, albeit not amounting to any known degree, should count for SOMETHING.....

(my turn to erm )

Hope you hear good news soon, Wowbagger! cheers

Have faith in yourself. winkeye

My piece of paper says that in 1980 I could repair a TV. Spot the difference between TVs then and TVs now. laugh

If you can get an interview and show both aptitude and willingness, then they might (and have been known to) bend the requirements somewhat. It's worked for me.....biggrin

Be yourself and be honest. They can spot a waffle (flannel) merchant a mile away.

I've got complete faith in you.

Awrabest, W

Dear Space Cadette;
Greetings! I just had to visit a person's page who had a name and a motto like yours. I hope that job thing goes well. I had a good interview, or so I thought, last June (2003) and I'm still hoping to hear from them. Great job, too and I'd get to work the 'vampire' shift; 1 am to 9am. So here's hoping.
I haven't been here for awhile, but I've dusted off my page and put the warp-core back on-line, so who knows. Why not drop by and say 'hi' or 'hello'. People seem to do a lot of that.
Your friend and Mine;
Moatas

Hi Wowbagger,

Did you hear about your interview yet? I've been sending good vibes your way, and there are no hurricanes to disrupt them, so I expect you'll get good news any time now!! winkeye

I've decided to go the temp route for now. I can actually get a little better pay than going for a direct job, even if I don't have benefits and continual employment may be a little spotty. Or, I can go back to the school I was attending, and complete my computer courses. State pays while I'm in school, and I've already been approved, but the check I get is not quite enough...

Decisions, decisions... biggrin

Hi there.

I've got complete faith in you. winkeye
You'll pick the correct plan of attack and appear at the end of the day smelling of roses.. smiley

Me, myself, personally - sent the agency an e-mail informing them of a change to my mobile phone number. They replied along the lines of "Thank you for informing us (blah blah) by the way, someone else got the job...."

C'est la vie sadface

I suppose it's better than "C'est la guerre"! winkeye

I take it you currently have a position and were looking for something a step up? You're bound to find one, probably as soon as you stop looking for it!

I actually had a good day today, and if the agency I was at this morning can't find me a temp job, I have two agencies to test with tomorrow. So things are picking up. smiley

Hi Wowbagger!

I hope things have gone well with you.

FINALLY, I started a new job yesterday... same company I left, different division. The money's better, too. It only took 10 months to find it...

Actually, they called me; I think I'll be happy there, even it's a further commute. And now I've got all those polished up job skills and a shiny new resume, just in case they decide to downsize me again! erm
