Really. More specifically I love Manhattan (and the aquarium @coney island). I've been to several bit's of the USA and Manhattan beats them all hands down. The transport system is incredible - don't worry about the numbers on the trains, as long as you know what colour you want, you'll get there eventually (possibly via somewhere cool you didn't know existed...)
They have walruses in the aquarium. 'Nuff said.
One of the oolest things I've ever done was walk across the Williamsburg bridge at 5am and see "That View" - you know what I'm talking about. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland (which is also remarkably cool) and if anyone's interested in a swap, drop us a line at infinitewalrus@hotmail.com
New Orleans is also very cool.
