two weeks in Italy time on Crete visit with Lady Pennywhistle in Jerusalem more kisses from Virgo2 flight courtesy of Virgo2 poker lessons/games with Virgo2 internship in Turkey visit St. Petersburg with my friend Julie spend time with Julie, in person, at least once every two years touch down on all seven continents publish at least one book live happily: write and contribute for a living* receive random roses.... at least once... have a bath drawn for me without asking Rethink grad school and travel plans in one year
And perhaps... Scotland and Ireland
*this means that I never run into debt and I can support myself and any dependents. Contribute means volunteer work/caring for others as well as submitting to various publications.
...I initially wrote these before the interview for the newspaper became a reality. I still love the concept of all of this... but my freedoms are about to go bye bye, I fear...
What are Random Roses?
Is it a *type* of rose, or just an unexpected bouquet?
You are not commiting for life You will get your chances eventually ,if you want.
If you mean by random roses , just for the sake fo getting roses with no special occaission ,no apologies, or too early on the dating time line then I like that too! Flowers just because I like them.
"internship in Turkey"
oh! oh! Dragonfly wants do Mr Bean!
bit of rant I do not understand why English still writes Turkey instread of Turkye*, because that is closer to orginal spelling and less confusing. I know English spelling grew from history.
* local short form: Turkiye
end of rant
...yes, you're spot on about the random roses, abbi....
pheloxi... there's a Turkish Student Association that's been around for years, and they spell their country Turkey. Maybe they're being accomodating.
it!!! I've been sick for three days now... a cold and allergies. I'm really tired of feeling so ing tired. At least my face feels awesome, now that I'm using facial masks... WHHEEEE!!!!!!!!
and chocolate
I think they're being accomodating, because they know that English speaking countries write Turkey. for while the Dutch news* spelled Iraq too, but it was always Irak. people got confused and thought was new country.
* the Dutch have so called green book with spelling. the offical news and other will use that the rules.
to clearify
it was spelled Irak and then for whilespelling it Iraq and we went back to old spelling Irak.
Cooooooool.
I got annoyed that during the war a few British politicians and reporters had suddenly adopted the 'Eyerack' pronunciation of Iraq favoured by the Americans over the normal 'Irraak'.
::shrugs:: What can I say!??.... we're annoyingly influential!!!!
a super powder!
I don't say 'Eyerack' ... I say 'Irraak'... maybe because I'm living that much closer to Britain than most Americans ...
And you're still probably saying it wrong.
Dragonfly, I _will_ post my own list at some point as promised... but I still need to think of it.
Youse sayin' Oi'm tawkin' wrawng? Oi'm frum Noo Yawk, and Oi tawk just foine, tanks very much!
All I'm saying is that since it has two gutturals in it - no, actually three - there is very little chance for any English speaker to be saying it right. I don't bother saying it right usually myself... it sounds funny because modern spoken Hebrew flattened all the gutturals.
Hey! I've spent two weeks in Italy. ...and time on Crete! So then there's item three, and then my list is pretty much completed.
Wow, I'm impressed... nice lurking there, boy.
*sigh* Really wish you could come here, too.
Hey, any chance you could maybe stowaway with Dragonfly when she comes for a visit on February (assuming it works out <fingerscrossed>), or something?
Could dress up as a dog and have D take you along as a pet... 'relse see if you can fit into the largest luggage they allow. Pet crate would be bigger, though...
Hmmmm.
So many people I'd like to visit, so little time/money/energy.
Nice lurking? Learned from the best...
Anyway, I think the pet idea is better. Things didn't turn out very well for that one guy that mailed himself across country a few months ago...
