two weeks in Italy
time on Crete
visit with Lady Pennywhistle in Jerusalem
more kisses from Virgo2
flight courtesy of Virgo2
poker lessons/games with Virgo2
internship in Turkey
visit St. Petersburg with my friend Julie
spend time with Julie, in person, at least once every two years
touch down on all seven continents
publish at least one book
live happily: write and contribute for a living*
receive random roses.... at least once...
have a bath drawn for me without asking
Rethink grad school and travel plans in one year

And perhaps... Scotland and Ireland

*this means that I never run into debt and I can support myself and any dependents. Contribute means volunteer work/caring for others as well as submitting to various publications.

...I initially wrote these before the interview for the newspaper became a reality. I still love the concept of all of this... but my freedoms are about to go bye bye, I fear...

"internship in Turkey"

oh! oh! Dragonfly wants do Mr Bean!

bit of rant
I do not understand why English still writes Turkey instread of Turkye*, because that is closer to orginal spelling and less confusing. I know English spelling grew from history.

* local short form: Turkiye

end of rant

pheloxi... there's a Turkish Student Association that's been around for years, and they spell their country Turkey. Maybe they're being accomodating.

cheerup cheesecake and chocolate milk

I think they're being accomodating, because they know that English speaking countries write Turkey. for while the Dutch news* spelled Iraq too, but it was always Irak. people got confused and thought was new country.

* the Dutch have so called green book with spelling. the offical news and other will use that the rules.

I got annoyed that during the war a few British politicians and reporters had suddenly adopted the 'Eyerack' pronunciation of Iraq favoured by the Americans over the normal 'Irraak'.

I don't say 'Eyerack' ... I say 'Irraak'... maybe because I'm living that much closer to Britain than most Americans ... winkeye

laugh

All I'm saying is that since it has two gutturals in it - no, actually three - there is very little chance for any English speaker to be saying it right. smiley I don't bother saying it right usually myself... it sounds funny because modern spoken Hebrew flattened all the gutturals.

Could dress up as a dog and have D take you along as a pet... 'relse see if you can fit into the largest luggage they allow. Pet crate would be bigger, though...

Nice lurking?
Learned from the best...

Anyway, I think the pet idea is better. Things didn't turn out very well for that one guy that mailed himself across country a few months ago...
