Thanks for the info on this scientist. It is a shame that he is not better known. Great pic as well. It was a relief after all the other scary stuff in  this week. Good luck seeing the meteor showers. Do you live near one of the Dark Parks?

As it happens, it's clear tonight and I keep popping outside with my binos. I know Io is being eclipsed by Jupiter tonight

I don't have to go anywhere if it's a clear night, my back garden has dark sky, and no streetlights spoiling the view. I can see for miles and millions of miles. There's a gorgeous arm of the Milky Way on display tonight, along with sparkling Jupiter and red Aldebaran, later I'm going to try and hunt down that comet in Hercules
