hmmm.... Bit unusual, here, to get big* things, flying about, at night, above our heads.... Aeroplanes, big ones, no idea what (not quite that* much above our heads), but nearby... at night... Of course, there may be an airshow on I wasn't aware of... or something... or just a few bigger planes than useual coming into Marshals for servicing, but they sound more, and bigger than what marshels useually deals with... Anyone else noticed this? (over East Anglia)?

Of course I live in Wales, might be the sheep...

Often in garish shirts too.

There's a lot of stuff goes over my head but I really don't know what any of it is.
swl- That is what I fear... Only thing being, last time it were them, they were frlying over this bit of the country, late at night, they were going off to some country, Iraq I think it was... just a few days before news of a war hit the TV... hmmm... wonder if its olympics related... apparently everything is now olympic related... hmmm... then, there was that suspescious lady in town today... kind of following us... said somethign to us about hats... and the child with the strange ears and fuzzy beard... or strange beard and fuzzy ears, its always so hard to tell

Farnborough Airshow's on this week, but I doubt you'd see increased night flying in East Anglia as a result.
It's probably some military exercise, or it could be operational stuff flying to Afghanistan. Sometimes I get a load of Chinooks flying over at night. It's like a small earthquake.
yeh... they woke me up the other night... about 3 or 4 AM I think it was Just don't useually notice it overly much round here

Can't say I've noticed it. We do get the police helicopter over quite often, which sounds pretty loud & the occasional jet. The Duxford air traffic is usually daytime so it can't be that.
Next time I'm lying awake at night I'll listen out...
We get the filth too, in their helicopter sometimes, though not for a while... This was a lot bigger than that...

I think low-flying may be seen as an Olympic event this year. The RAF are just out practising.
I was watching Terminator late at night, when the house started shaking - ruddy police copter - hovering overhead - the downdraft caused all the air inside the house to vibrate.
