I used to have iGoogle as my home page - but have stopped using it. Now if I want to look at it, I can find it by clicking it at the bottom of the Google search page.

But looking at the iGoogle page, I think you do the same thing - just click on Classic home at the bottom and it should take you there.

I hope this is what you meant?

About a week ago my standard Google homepage
changed to something like I'd expect to see
on a phone or iPad - icons to all my most visited
and an > type page shift extension to a page with
icons for several basic Google functions including
search, chat, etc.

I don't think I'd pushed any buttons or reset anything,
just figured it was an updated google homepage setup
designed to be mobile friendly and I was prepared
to adapt to the change.

But yesterday it all went back to the old Google homepage.

So I'm gonna look for that button on the bottom you mention
and see if it was all my fault all along.

Nope, no joy.
There's an iGoogle button and a +Google button
but neither does the icons only page I was getting.

Both look sorta like an old Yahoo homepage with all
sorts of settable functions for news, weather, etc
all tailored to one's location and preferencs.

Happily each also has a button to return to the old
Google home/search page where the all the great doodles
sometimes appear.
