So, with Italy & Greece having a "technocratic " cabinet, who would you choose if your country had to have one?
Would it see Alan Sugar as UK PM for example, Richard Branson as transport Minister? What horrible combinations do you think we may end up wit.
Obviously Italian & Greek researchers have a head start here!

Forget technocrats, just go the whole hog and have computers running the country. All decisions will be perfect and corruption impossible. We could even have them generate their own smiling CGI avatars to reassure the pathetic voting public that all is well.
Just make sure they're not programmed by Tories.

In Belgium, we've effectively had this for 18 months, in a variant: we have normal politicians, but unable to take political decisions (as they are ruling as a caretaker gvmt).

My - people running things because they're qualified to do so, not because they scratched someone's back.
It'll never catch on
I'm really not sure about the idea of "technocratic" government. While it may be true that 'technocrats' may not be associated with any particular political party, they're not non-political or neutral in any substantial sense.
More techno in government can only be good. Leading to a Trance Cabinet I hope?

Cheat - that's two questions - this one and "if you could change from a monarchy...."!
House music? can't be have a dubstep government? like innit down with da people on da street like innit. Hmmm... actually, maybe not... Someone to proof read policy ideas/plans would be good though... They'd maybe pick up that most are unworkable or illegal or just plain won't work before the foolish publicall school kids are foolish enough to release it as an idea of the government before having their parents proof-read it
