"it was the "glorious twelfth" celebrations of the battle of the boyne it all gets a bit fistycuffs then" Yeah, I know, but I don't seem to recall it being this bad for a few years?
There was an interview on the today program this morning with a priest who was there trying to calm things down who said there were loads of kids there (he spoke to one as young as 9) throwing stones at the police who seemed to be treating rioting as entertainment with very little to do with any of the many issues involved.

Someone has succeeded in genetically modifying mosquitoes to be immune to the malaria parasite. If these mosquitos are then released into the wild and manage to outcompete the original mosquitos it could mean the end of malaria. Of course for them to do that they´d need an advantage over the other mosquitos, which so far they don´t have. Also you never know if some environmental group puts a stop to it all.
