have just aquired 4 of the cutest rodents in the entire universe. Robowski hamsters. Noisy little blighters, running in their wheel, but ooh, yummy! (and no I aint gonna eat 'em)
Awww bless! I saw a bundle of russian dwarf hammies in the pet shop recently n almost could'nt resist !

my ratties are still driving me mad! 
They are doing very well, thankfully the cats can't get to 'em and I can almost hear the little ones laugh when they try 
They don't half poo a lot tho' 
rodents always do! at least it tends to be pellets though so easy to get rid of
do they have a special toilet corner? iveheard if they do a littke bit of kitty litter there can help stop it smelling. my hamster was a cow, she would get out of bed to go to the wee corner all civilised like, then go back n poo in her bed n everywhere else! 
They have a 'run' teeny icle steps leading up to an empty space (not empty actually, cuz they've got two kitchen roll holders on it) they poop there, and in there ickle house. When I bought the cage the pet shop owners were concerned I was having more than one hamster  'Oh they don't get on, you know' Wubbish, they love it!
At least they don't try and destroy everyfink like the gerbils below them. I put two kitchen roll holders in their cage earlier (about two hours ago) where are they now? Destroyed I tells ya!
russian hamsters are fine in groups, it the syrian ones that will mutilate any other hamster n sight
and not quite as small, and not quite as cute.

Petronius the Arbiter died yesterday!  Buried him with Lightning (a gerbil of mine)  Had been scared to death by the looks of things, poor lamb (ham(p)ster). Well at least his last few hours were full of love and cuddles. Very sad when a pet dies in your hand!

The other ones, his bum was red raw! Poor burger! Am just really upset that he was only one I could define* (being the smallest) Now they all look the same, I haven't a clue which one is Sora, or Donald, or Rolly Poly Goofy (can you guess where we got the names from? )
Having bred gerbils for many years (and having over 30 at any one time) you tend not to get *that* attached to them, I'm afraid

Indeed. Lightning, on the other hand, probably had a sore bum til the end (the others thought he was female )

Let me explain...I used to have 4 ham(p)sters - one died, another was being picked on so we bought a new cage. Tonight I have discovered 4 Babies in the cage with two (no wonder Rolly Poly Goofy was being picked on ) Sora and Donald are not both male! Eep! How many more will come???
