Next week is my daughter's third birthday. I remember as a child on my birthday I got to choose what we would have for dinner AND I got to pick what we would watch on TV that night. This was a big deal. We only had one TV and seven of us lived in the house. (It's strange to think there were only 3 1/2 channels then.) Also, usually my father decided what we were all going to watch on TV, so I've seen nearly every Kung Fu and Godzilla movie shown on TV in the US. But birthdays were magical days even without a special dinner or TV show. There was just something about the day that made me excited about it's arrival (and I still feel this way.) I don't think of it as another year passing, but rather as a new beginning. But I kind of feel that way about every day. I hope my daughter can enjoy her birthdays as much as I do!
I always say to those I love on birthdays;I am glad you were born. Helpful when people are not happy about the number attatched to them.
I am sure your daughter will like birthdays! You are showing her what they are about!
