There are "Go Servers" which allow people to play go person to person across the internet. There are 2 types - real time and turn based. The real time servers are characterised by the KGS server and the IGS server (KGS is Kiseido Go Server - see www.kiseido.com or http://kgs.kiseido.com) IGS is the Internet Go Server. An example of a turn based server is the dragon go server www.dragongoserver.net .
Go is an amazing game - the potential for complexity is only limited by one's own thinking.
There are many across the board ( ie real face to face) tournaments. In the UK these are organised by the British Go Association, in the US the American Go Association organises games and in Europe there are regional Go associations of Federations which are part of European Go Federation.
There is plenty of opportunities for anyone and everyone to play Go - just play Go.!!
