This time last week I went on the Scottish Researchers Group Halloween meet up. For those interested in who attended, a record of the events can be found at A6547115

I was very well behaved (I think!) and the evening was a success - but I would expect nothing less from the SRG who are *very* well practised in hosting these events winkeye Except for when they avoided me for an hour by being underground and out of mobile contact <spank> I felt like Cinderella but I did get to go to the ball in the end and much jolliness was had whistle

I fell over on the way home and grazed both knees, but my Nora Batty tights survived intact erm . I confused myself by putting the clock in the bedroom forward and then back while I was drunk - meaning it was still an hour late when I got up silly

Zagreb crashed at my house and rewarded me with a lovely tea in bed the next morning as well as making veggie burgers for dinner. That is what I call the perfect houseguest!

The rest of the week has been a bit of a difficult one onsite. All I am going to say is that tomorrow is another day and researchers on h2g2 will still be producing great quality EG entries; as for the rest of it - it is up to us to make a difference. ok

Cor! The Scottish meets sound fun! Wish I was far north enough now!

The tights...they're giving me pause for pondering. You grazed your knees? Maybe you secretly bought super tights?

This week has been...difficult hasn't it? I also found that I've still got entries I started a year ago and haven't finished yet erm But you don't really want to know about commonly eaten nuts do you?!

Are you including macadamia nutsdrool ? Yummy! When i was in Malawi they were incredibly cheap & plentiful, i was utterly horrified to find they are prtty much a luxury elsewhere.

Sympathy for the knees Mort, speaking as the owner of the Bloody Knee & expert in tripping over!

Macademia nuts will be included, of course ok I've got seven more nuts to do before I'm finished. It all sprouted when an entry about making bread went through PR and I couldn't find a link about nuts!

Bloody knees? I'll give you bloody knees! I've got this macki (technical term winkeye scar on my knee and now, everytime I knock it on the edge of a coffee table or chair or something it makes me crumple! Then again it was where a rod was inserted all the way down my leg from knee to ankle so I guess it has an excuse ill

Hope the knees aren't too bad. Does it make you feel like a school kid again?

Kat (not sure when she added Mort to her friends list but interested none the less)

Rod is indeed still there! However I was very disappointed to find that it doesn't beep in security whatsits erm I was so excited when I was at the airport and then got let down completely! The knee works reasonably well. It's got strange ligament problems and muscle problems and the entire leg hates me and has a chunk missing and...well it's just a bit eurgh really.

rofl Yes Kat, I did feel like a schoolgirl again! I was trying to be so brave too. Every time the duvet touched them it stung and hurt lots and lots.

But they are only grazes and I told myself not to be a baby. I still have scabby knees now!

Still it was a dam good evening out winkeye

Knee grazes hurt like hell! The last time i fell in the street (it's a hobby of minewinkeye ) i had some very spectacular scabby knees.

My entire leg hates me too, great way of putting it!ok

I have the opposite thing at airports, i always set the damn things off for no apparent reason! Worst was at Lusaka airport, Zambia. "beep beep beeep" This HUGE Zambian security woman pounced upon me & , i kid you not, in front of everyone else in the queue demanded to see my bra!!!yikes since she was carrying a rather large gun i lifted up my Tshirt; she had a jolly good grope of mytit tit & announced triumphantly "She has iron in her bra"

LOL! Before you get the wrong idea & visualise me wandering around in Madonna style conical metal things, the iron in question was merely the underwire thingy.

Personally i think the wretched woman set the whole thing up, she probably fancied me!winkeye

There's probably an equivalent for the blokes "Ooh, he's got lead in 'is pencil!"

Even this wasn't as embarassing as the time i tried to smuggle a bottle of gin back into Kuwait from Jordan, put it inside a rolled up carpet. Nope, got nicked, so they held the whole queue up & went minutely through all my luggage, whooped with great delight on a box of Tampax & took every single one out from its holder & swung them around!

I would NOT make a good smuggler!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm garlic mushrooms! Now you've got me thinkng and it's only 8am!

I think moving swiftly between normal to 'drank too much' is...I'm not sure, I wonder if it's something that happens to people with depression/bipolar/bleugh more so that other people? It *often* happens to me and so I rarely drink (says she who is drinking at 8am, but you get what I mean).

A big AWWWWWWWWwwwww for your knees. Reminds me of something that happened when I was about 7. We were walking the dog and I was wearing shorts. Typically, I managed to fall into a patch of stinging nettles. It hurt like bleep but my mam and granny told me to pull myself together and it was only some old weeds so get a grip. A few days later mam accidently touched one with her finger and moaned for the next entire day about the few bobbly bits laugh

drool Garlic mushrooms...

I fell off my motorbike about a month ago, managed to skin my knees but my waterproofs, cords and ballet tights all remained intact. Magic ballet tights?

I don't get drunk but then when I do it's all at once. I think it's a depression thing.
