lol! I've done a bit to the end, but I'm not sure how it looks. Everybody's been saying that he's coming back, which means that somewhere in the future I'll have to do even more to it. Chop a bit, you know.
Well... The delightful Angus *isn't* coming back according to the Beeb, they don't want him back now or in the future... *However* Hat-trick have indicated that they would be prepared to take him back...
Both parties seem to be overlooking the talents of Boris Johnson, for some strange reason. Oberon2001

Where did you hear that? About Angus not coming back?

I think I read about that on BBC digital text.

Yeah, pretty much... somewhere else as well, some paper. It was a Beeb spokesperson that said they didn't want him back. Oberon2001

OK. I'll take that on about the spokesman, but I refuse to believe anything I read in the papers. The truth, the hole in the truth and anything but the truth.

Oh and you can get some (they're free) by callling hat trick prodcutions on a first come first served basis....
As for the entry, it's a good entry but it really really needs to be divided up into paragraphs, with a clear line in between them...
You can find the hat trick number in the latest Private Eye ('cos Ian Hislop's the editor) or go to http://www.hat-trick.co.uk Oberon2001

OK, thanks.
How's the entry coming along? It still needs to have a bit of formatting done ie split into paragraphs before its ready to be sent off to a subeditor. Any progress would bring it a bit closer to being picked.

I've done a bit more to it, tried to sort out the paragraphs and tweaked a couple of bits.

Yes, there are still Guide ML and speeling issues to be addressed, and personally I think you've given a few too many examples and not quite explained it e.g. Ian and Paul, for those researchers not from the UK. I like it though, honestly

Ok, I've sorted out the spelling (Spelt right), but I'm not sure what you mean about Guide ML; somebody said I should put it in that style, because itshould look better. What's the problem?

Hey Lizzy!
To change an entry into guideML click 'edit entry', then scroll down to near the bottom of the page. There should be a button (or similar) where you can select the 'style' of your entry. Make sure you click 'guideML' then click 'change style'
A couple of extra points
- This last paragraph -> "However, the programme has not been the same, sparkly, blissful half-hour of madness since he left. He is still sorely missed, and will be for a long time. And, however old-fashioned it sounds, I look back on the old shows that still crack me up and regretfully feel that we've never had it so good." It should be either taken out or changed, as it reflects your personal opinion (and mine as it goes), especially the use of the word 'I'.
- Seeing as you're changing it to GuideML, use headers and subheaders. Makes it a lot easier on the eye. To find out more about how to do this go to the GuideML-Clinic (it's probably useful to have two windows up when using this page, one being this page and the other being the entry you're editing)
- 'Tacky tabloid newspaper' -> Well, whilst this might be a little true (though the Daily Mail insists on calling itself a 'compact newspaper') it's an opinion.
- It might be an idea to do seperate subheaders on the team captains (and Angus too). Give you a chance to expand on what they've done (if you want I can do the Ian Hislop one... or Paul Merton!)
- The whole thing over 'Iain and Duncan Smith' (note the extra 'i' in Iain, as well) - It was Paul that invented this, let's give him credit
- Boris Johnson also edits a magazine (the Spectator or The New Statesman, I forget which). Worth a mention.
to give you so much to do, but I *really* wanna see this in the EG (and I'm a Scout now, so I get a say on whether it goes in ).

Thanks very much, Oberon. I'll try to get it sorted, but it might be a bit slow because I usually come on here as a short break between revision, so I only have a few miutes each time, but watch this space.
When you're back- You've spelt IDS's first name 'Ian' instead of 'Iain' a couple of times.
