THIS WEEK:
Threee (count 'em) new writers!
And a very witty h2g2 fairy-tale from a 3 year veteran. The first one is a very first/personal revelation about the impact on an extended family caused by one member with drug abuse problems. The sad bit is that society stands by and let's families be victimised, considering it a 'domestic' problem, when in fact it is criminal behaviour.
You ought to have an opinion; you should be prepared to speak out against these things.
Mental Illness by Primord The second one is by a former drug user who continues his struggle to stay clean and straight. In this essay, written for his college course on American Literature, he takes the opportunity to point out that America has removed itself from its more honourable past, going so far as to condemn post 9/11 sentimentalities in a way Ralph Waldo Emerson would applaud. He got an A. We give it an A-plus!
In Search of Beauty by King of the Jews The third one is fiction and fun. And no, it doesn't begin with: "It was a stark and stormy night!" Cut! by Pinwheel Pearl And finally, a very special treat.
Kate has been a fairly quiet researcher for almost three years. Now she has written something for all of us. A modern fairy tale, which will be at once familiar and yet mysterious. Kate insists on crediting U170904 for major inspiration and certain story details. Enjoy. A Modernish Fairy Tale by Kate Schechter NEXT WEEK:
We, will once again stir the pot so look for us in the slightly embarrassed h2g2 Post.
As always, we wait with bleated but unbloated sheepskins for any similarly perverse folk to join us.. The AggGag School of Thought:
