Winnipeg Poem by Researcher 195437 Didja ever read a poem in school about someplace like Zanzibar or Xanadu or Patterson, New Jersey and actually feel something of the place, even though you'd never been there? Didj'ever wonder what happened to those kinds of poems. This one is so good I actually sent it off to Peer Review before I realised it was a poem. It's also very first personal, a precis of lives lived out in Winnipeg, so obviously I submitted it to the wrong review. To make amends we feature it here.
Blonde Italian Cowgirl by Corinth
World traveller and poet/musician, Corinth, who enchanted us all at Valentines, returns with another close encounter of the 'romantic' kind. Think of Shakira in a cowboy hat, blue jeans and a guitar (as she appears in her video for "Underneath Your Clothes") and imagine what it would have been like to meet her on a train, a few years before she became a star. It sounds like Corinth did, and it still hurts.
Useful Links and Info by Rocket Man
Hanging out recently, at the new '20 most recent entries' list on the Info page we discovered that a few newbies are still slipping past the Aces. The Aces can't be everywhere of course, so if you ever encounter a researcher looking for directions, smile and say hi and give them a link to this entry at A725500 (an easy number to remember, you might even wanna write it down somewhere). Rocket Man (ACE and Guru) has provided everything anyone might need to start navigating the hootoo delta.
And finally, in honour of sunshine, gardening, hiking and summer holidays the Committee for Alien Content has asked me to provide you with some free time.
This blank space is provided as a symbol of the good times and adventures that await you out of doors. Fresh air, excercise, travels, new friends...
And if you wanna write about your Real Life Summer and tell everyone how much more fun Real Life can really be, then let these blank lines inspire you to create an entry and let AggGag know.
We'll be gathering the best of 'what I did last summer' entries for publication next fall. NEXT WEEK:
