The purpose of technical support is not, in fact, to help you reconnect your computer in the event that you lose your Internet connection. Tech support exists to comfort you when you lose your Internet connection and to reassure you that you are getting the best value for your dollar. When calling for tech support, the worst thing that one can do is grovel or plead. This will
only amuse the agent and the agent will have to fight the natural urge to bait and play with you, much like a cat plays with a mouse before it kills it. Accept your fate gracefully, ask for assistance and work with the agent as he or she instructs you how to fix the mess that you caused.
