Hang onto it

The strange state in which most organisms begin their life. It usually involves prolonged periods of vomiting, incontinence and idiocy, which isn't always pleasant but at least has a cover-all guarantee. Like Old Age, it does have its positive aspects. You can say and do anything that comes to mind without fear of offending, you can cry when it hurts, laugh until you fold up double, spend the whole day playing, and get tucked into bed at night with the softest of kisses on your forehead. It is a magical time.
