Hello Unknown Visitor,
please sit yourself down if you care to.
I'm into all sorts of stuff but got myself kidnapped by a consortium of microprocessors that seem to have me hostage and tied to a PC for the best part of my waking hours. I actually came over here from the BBC Spooks site where visitors undergo extensive training... probably more than the real ones. I like that kind of stuff, even though I'm crap at it.
Just a little to tell you about myself.
I'm a geezer, a little older than I'd like to be.
39 ain't that bad, but can't wait till next year-- life begins! (so they say)
100k per year (I wish). After all that if you still want to make me your friend, feel free.
Normally I'm quite pleasant, caring, etc. but can get overly enthused with a situation. Can also be a bit like depressed Marvin the robot from the Hitchhikers' Guide movie at times; normally shake out of this mood sooner rather than later, thankfully; so not too many people see that side of me; anger sometimes offsets depression. Still the robot is one of my favourite characters, along with Data of Star Trek -- I would like to have that kind of instant access to all kinds of knowledge and technical knowhow. Guess I like that digital kind of existence, which makes me wonder whether I am not such an unwilling hostage of the digital world.
I guess my hobby is web design, check out my web at MY HOMEPAGE if you have nothing better to do and like art and stuff like that. I can't promise you will appreciate my art as much of it is experimental, etc. There is other stuff too that reflects my interests, which are some what limited in their variety... as I mentioned I'm a PC hostage and don't get out much.
My H2G2 42ism
Bit too easy but...
((2 +/- 0) + (2 + (5*6)) + (2*4)) = 42.
I've tried to group them similarly to the binary example below, i.e. into groups of 2, 32 and 8, which is how the binary equivalent is calculated; whether that may or may not be relevant in any kind of fashion I do not know, however it seemed logical since I went to the trouble of including a binary representation. I guess the ultimate optimisation of this number would be if the binary could be calculated in the same order too, i.e. 32, 8, 2: which would make the number 2562420 or something similar.
42ish-isms
101010 = 42 (binary) a very neat/orderly pattern, i.e. 1*32 + 0*16 + 1*8 + 0*4 + 1*2 + 0*1= 42.
0x2A (or simply 2A) = 42 (hexadecimal) very similar character structure esp. the relationship between the A and 4, though maybe slightly reversed and you have to see A kind of lost a leg there somewhere and is on a bit of a wobble.
If there is not a campaign here to free the internet, i.e. make it free and freely accessible to all, in every home, then I think there damn well should be; there, that is my pennies worth.
The value of access to the internet for the masses as an alternative to tv seems justifiable; however the costs for a majority of the people are not viable and they are stuck with tv and radio as their only information and media source; dictated to rather than given the freedom to explore. This situation is intolerable in a largely information and data driven society.
Anyway that's enough about me, what about you...
