When I was young I used to lie on the grass under the shade of the mimosa tree and dip my toes in the pool. When I returned to this pool some twenty years later I found it derelict and all the water evaporated. This is how we are tricked by time... The journey from A to B through all points in between I was born in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia in 1971. I now live and work in Ballsbridge, a suburb of Dublin Between A and B I have lived in Malawi, Lesotho, Cameroon, Caistor and Birmingham.There are probably other places too, but they don't spirng to mind. This is how we are tricked by memory...

Since I bought a telescope (about a month ago) we have only had a couple of cloud free nghts - and tonight is a wash-out. Not a wise investment - even by my standards

In Perm (Russia) and it is currently -21C which is pretty nasty stuff. Interesting plave with many sights but none of which will I photograph as I'm not prepared to take my gloves off

Hot flushes! Mar 16, 2009
A strange defect in our new apartment - the cistern in the small bathroom has been connected to the hot water supply.
It is being fixed on Wednesday, but until then we have been advised to take care...
