| | My glass is always half full | |
I'm Richard Creasey. This space is where the glass is half full. Along with Douglas Adams and Robbie Stamp, I'm a founder of BBCi's h2g2 community site. My background is television, indeed for 14 years I ran the Network Factual department at Central Independent Televison in the UK - responsible for all aspects of the company's features and documentary output. One project which tested me to the full was the Overland Challenge a journey that changed my life. You'll be able to learn more about me from that. At the top of my present agenda is 'The Sigusa Trilogy'. The next net challenge that I am helping on h2g2 is 'Connect Africa'. I've just finished helping John Ridgway's 'Save The Albatross' project. Earlier I completed my first ever radio series Crossing the Boundary. For those of you who feel my name has a ring to it that you half recognise, that will probably be because my father John Creasey was the world's most prolific writer. Dad introduced me to that wide world of adventure and travel, indeed I was driven round the world for 465 days in the back of my parents car when I was 5 and 6, and among other interests, I now have my own small aeroplane.

Walked across Regents Park to the Royal Academy of Arts yesterday - to see the Summer Exhibition - and was completely bowled over by David Hockney's Grand Canyon paintings.
If anyone reading this hasn't seen them - do

Great Day Jul 16, 1999
Flying in the morning and afternoon - and I'll bore anyone who regularly drops into this journal and myself if I go on and on about it - doors off, wind (but absolutely not too much - we only cruise at 45mph) and lots of landings and take offs - bouncing along the field and really finding out what the little AX3 is like. I'm smiling all over as I write. In the evening The Bolshoi Ballet and Spartacus. For me Andrei Uvarov and Inn Petrova made it one of those evenings Vera and I will never forget.
Chasing tails Jul 14, 1999
I found myself chasing my tail all day yesterday.
But I finally caught it so today looks like being much better.

Closing Doors Jul 13, 1999
I find that one of the most important things in life is to close doors. Stable doors, house doors, bedroom doors of course, but most of all the doors in your brain. Doors to things you must do that remain open until the job is done.
Screaming Jul 12, 1999
One of those days that's so hot and sticky and I find myself screaming at the slightest upset and then thinking: Hold on, the sune is very out, you've had lunch with Robbie and Douglas, a meeting about the Toff and it's progressing so don't forget the glass IS half full
