Off for the annual trek to Wales for this holiday weekend.It's a bit different this year as we will be staying some of the time at my sis-inlaw's whose new home borders the Wales/Hertfordshire border. It's very nice but seem miles from anywhere even though Abergavenny is just up the road(welsh-speak)I can just imagine it under snow..

Anyway the main star of the visit is 98 year old Ma-inlaw.Still living in her own home albeit with a lot of support but still wanting company.

I've been given the all clear at the Eye Department..So I'm looking forward to driving at night and getting my art stuff out and getting some painting and drawing going..

Which is now on the 1st of November..Somehow a lot longer than the 3 months maximum allowed on the waiting list.

Sadly my daughter was coming for a rare two day visit but now that's had to be cancelled.

Ah well it will be over and done with and I'll be able to get back to night time driving.Pity I have so few places to go.

Well my only daughter has sworn an oath to another for life.With that action I have acquired another daughter..where I did at one point think I would become a mother-in-law to a son-in-law I've got a daughter-in-law instead.

I'm not sure what I should be feeling..I certainly have a feeling of loss but then I've felt that since my daughter left home at 18 to attend university. I do have some trepidation because I'm not sure what to expect for them in the future because despite the huge strides that same sex relationships have undergone since the 60s there are those who are hostile even now to the idea of same sex partnerships let alone marriage.

It's never been an attitude that I could understand.Even before the law changed I just never understood the malignant attitude towards gay relationships and I still don't see why those of differing religions and persuasions feel they have a right to comment on,abuse and physically attack this particular group.

However I wish them both all the best that life can offer and hope and pray that everyone they meet treats them with the respect and love they both should have as a natural right.

However when I visit them I do know one thing.There will always be cake and tea.
